Leeds Could Sign ‘Composed’ £5m Ampadu Partner

Leeds United have finally begun to bolster their senior squad this summer, but more reinforcements could be on the way to help fix a key area of weakness.

Who are Leeds United signing this summer?

Fans across the country have known the failures that the Whites have suffered in the defensive department of late, with that risk accepted under Marcelo Bielsa's all-action leadership, but then frustratingly retained by the three bosses that followed him.

After that fine first year back in the Premier League, they would concede 79 goals the season following, and shipped 78 more last term as they finally fell to relegation.

With the purge that is currently going on with their backline, as Illan Meslier is pushed towards the same exit door that Diego Llorente and Robin Koch have already passed through, Daniel Farke must be diligent in finding their replacements.

Having already welcomed Ethan Ampadu, as an experienced youngster capable of competing within English football once again, it seems another report suggests they will seek to mimic this move and form a centre-back partnership that could span the foreseeable future.

Indeed, it's claimed that Middlesbrough are expected to command just £5m for Paddy McNair, for whom the Whites have been linked with this month.

How good is Paddy McNair?

Having endured a rough start to his career under the immense scrutiny that playing for Manchester United brings, a switch to Sunderland arguably saw him struggle even further as he would rupture his ACL, meaning he could only watch as they fell into the Championship.

Missing half of that subsequent season, he would trade Wearside for Teesside as he departed following the Black Cats' second-straight relegation.

The Northern Ireland international now seems to be enjoying some of the best football of his career, having grown into a capable defensive leader under Chris Wilder and now Michael Carrick.

ethan-ampadu

The 2020/21 campaign arguably outlined his finest thus far, with his 7.11 average Sofascore rating in the Championship making him the club's best-performing player by some distance. This was a figure boosted by his two goals and seven assists, as he often stepped into midfield to maintain 1.8 tackles and 1.9 clearances per game, as well as a 73% pass accuracy, via Sofascore.

He has risen the latter figure to 83% as of his most recent league season, showcasing the steady progression of the 28-year-old into a fine ball-playing star. Carrick even sought to praise his 6 foot 2 titan, speaking just last year on moving him to centre-back: "I think that's where he feels comfortable and wants to play.

"I had a good chat with Paddy and I thought he was terrific today, probably the best player throughout the game with his passing from the back and composure on the ball. He played right side, left side and looked confident and composed on the ball which was good."

Placing him beside Ampadu could provide the perfect foil for the equally-solid stopper, who too has a touch of class to lead them into a brighter future.

Last term, whilst on loan at Spezia, the Wales international would maintain an 82% pass accuracy of his own in Serie A, alongside 1.2 interceptions, 2.1 tackles and three clearances per game. It was no surprise to see his 6.91 average rating, per Sofascore, so impressive despite his side falling to relegation.

These two vastly experienced centre-backs could instantly strike up a formidable partnership, more than capable of taking the second division by storm given their various background within English football.

Chelsea Keen On New £70m-Rated Midfielder Alongside Caicedo

Chelsea could have their sights set on a huge swoop to sign Marco Verratti from PSG, according to reliable journalist Kaveh Solhekol, via The Chelsea Chronicle.

What is the latest Chelsea transfer news?

The Blues suffered a torrid Premier League campaign in 2022/23, disposing of Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter before slumping down the division and out of the top ten entirely. Any hopes of European football, even the Europa Conference League, were dashed as the side struggled to pick up wins. It means that this summer will require an overhaul and the club have already got to work in sorting out transfer business to get them back on track.

One of the biggest transfer sagas for Chelsea this summer involves Moises Caicedo. With the English side keen on signing the midfielder, it seems as though this is one deal that will continue to drag on for weeks. The most recent update has seen the club launch an official bid to try and bring in the Ecuador star, but current club Brighton snubbed that approach – believed to be worth £70m – and it is now back to the drawing board for the Blues.

They have also been linked with a swoop for wonderkid Matheus Franca, who is currently playing for Flamengo in Brazil. He is seen as a real talent and would cost Chelsea £21m if they did wish to bring him to Stamford Bridge. The club's owner Todd Boehly appears to be prepared to stump up that amount to land the versatile attacker though, so a deal could potentially happen.

Are Chelsea signing Marco Verratti?

Now, according to reliable journalist Kaveh Solhekol, via The Chelsea Chronicle, there is yet another name on their transfer wishlist. It comes in the form of PSG's Marco Verratti, with the reporter stating that the midfielder could be available on a deal from the Ligue 1 side this summer.

It seems the French outfit may be prepared to sell him on if they can land a fee of around £70m for his services and Chelsea have been listed as one of the clubs considering a move for the Italian. No official bid has yet been tabled for the player though and they will also face competition for his signature from Liverpool.

Solhekol said: "PSG’s official position is that the player is not for sale, but I think, reading between the lines, they would listen to offers for him, offers that match their valuation. I think their valuation is about £70m. We have also been told that two Premier League clubs are interested in signing him. The names we were told were Liverpool and Chelsea."

The midfielder is a huge name who has long stood out with his quality on the big stage, with the Italian playing on both the World and European stages with PSG. It's led to him becoming one of the most notable players in his position and that remains the same even this season. Football journalist Josh Bunting stated that Verratti is "magnificent" in terms of his vision, most notably during a game for his country back in March.

It shows that, even though the international star is now 30-years-old, he is still playing at the highest level. If Chelsea want to improve their midfield then, the Ligue 1 based man might be a really good signing for the club.

ExWHUemployee: West Ham could look to sign "fastest man in the world"

West Ham United would be interested in signing Armando Broja from Chelsea this summer should he become available on loan according to ExWHUEmployee.

The Albanian striker missed the second half of last season with a devastating knee injury.

Will Armando Broja leave Chelsea this summer?

The striker could depart Stamford Bridge this window in search of game time.

The forward enjoyed a strong loan spell in the 2021/22 season with Southampton, managing 10 goal contributions in 39 games and recording a WhoScored average rating of 6.59 in the Premier League. The striker's performances caught the eye of Premier League legend Alan Shearer, who said to Premier League Productions. “Let me tell you, this lad is clinical, His goal against Brentford made him the youngest player in Premier League history to score in each of his first four home starts. As a striker, it’s all about taking chances and scoring goals, so stats like this tell me he can thrive in the Premier League. Broja is a young striker with an eye for goal and has a bright future in the Premier League.”

The forward, who has been hailed as the "fastest man in the world" by Raheem Sterling, returned to parent club Chelsea ahead of the 2022/23 season hoping to nail down a starting spot and cement his place in the Blues side, however, the forward managed just three starts in all competitions before a devastating knee injury in a friendly against Aston Villa ruled him out for the rest of the season.

Armando Broja

This summer, Chelsea have signed two forwards in Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson, therefore may be hard to come by for Broja this season, so a loan move may be the correct move to make this summer on a personal level in order to play regular football and bounce back from the injury.

According to journalist Simon Phillips via his Substack, Broja could be available on loan with the Hammers interested in a potential move for the 21-year-old.

Speaking on The West Ham Way podcast on Patreon, ExWHUEmployee revealed that the club have had a long-standing interest in the forward, and his is just one of multiple Blues youngsters the club are considering: "We’ve also looked at youngsters from other clubs, mainly Chelsea. Obviously they’ve got Armando Broja who we tried to sign last summer, if he was to be available for a loan and maybe one of our forwards was to move on then he would be another that we would look to sign."

Who Would Armando Broja replace at West Ham United?

There are two real candidates who could depart the London Stadium this summer should Broja arrive.

Italian striker Gianluca Scamacca could call time on his Hammers career after just one season. Following his £35.5m move from Sassuolo, the striker struggled to meet expectations, managing just eight goals in 27 appearances, with just three coming in the league, as poor form and knee problems prevented the 24-year-old from really being able to build form. There are reports now that both Inter Milan and Roma are interested in a transfer this summer with the Nerrazzuri preparing an €18-20 million(£15.4-17.2m) offer for the striker. Scamacca also recently completed a lengthy interview with the Italian outlet Cronache di Spogliatoio where he spoke on his desire to join his boyhood club Roma.

Michail Antonio is another forward who could depart this summer after 10 years with the club. A potential move to Saudi Arabia with Steven Gerrard's Al Ettifaq is reportedly heavily interesting the Jamaican international who is moving into the final year of his deal. West Ham reportedly won't stand in the striker's way and would sell this window for £10m.

Tottenham Eye Kane Heir In £43m "Phenom" Who’s Like Balogun

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly identified a leading candidate to replace Bayern Munich target Harry Kane this summer, with reports in Italy indicating that Ange Postecoglou and co are interested in Lille striker, Jonathan David.

How much would Jonathan David cost?

According to Gazzetta dello Sport – via Sport Witness – the Canadian international is said to be being 'followed' by those at N17, with the 23-year-old seemingly at the 'top of their list' with regard to potential centre-forward replacements for Kane.

The report suggests, however, that while the former Gent hitman is valued at around €50m (£43m) at present, the impending switch of Rasmus Hojlund to Manchester United for a fee of around £72m could inflate the striker market.

Read the latest Tottenham transfer news HERE…

The piece does though add that David's price tag could drop to as low as €40m (£34m) this month, with the Ligue 1 outfit potentially inclined to cash on the Brooklyn-born menace with just two years left on his current deal.

Who is Jonathan David similar to?

There have perhaps been doubts regarding the 5 foot 9 marksman's ability to make an impact in the Premier League, with journalist Dean Jones previously suggesting that David had failed to impress watching Man United scouts last season.

That being said, however, it is perhaps hard to argue with the striker's impressive goal return in Ligue 1 in recent times, with the £28k-per-week asset having notably scored 24 league goals during the 2022/23 campaign – a record only bettered by Alexandre Lacazette and Kylian Mbappe in the division.

Lauded as a "phenom" and "one of the best strikers in the world" by podcaster Tony Marinaro, the emerging gem now boasts a haul of 58 goals in 136 games in all competitions for his current side, after previously bagging 37 goals in 83 games during his time in Belgium.

While the jury is out on whether he could be the man to fill Kane's shoes in north London – with the Englishman netting 30 league goals last season alone – it is interesting to note that David is said to share a number of stylistic and statistical similarities with Arsenal youngster, Folarin Balogun, according to Opta's Player Radars.

That comparison between the latter man – who scored 21 Ligue 1 goals last season while on loan at Reims – and his Lille counterpart can be seen by just how clinical they are in the final third, with David ranking in the top 6% among his European peers for goals, while Balogun ranks in the top 10% in that regard.

The pair are also alike with regard to their poaching prowess and desire to impact the game where it matters most, with the reported Spurs target ranking in the top 9% for touches in the opposition box, while Balogun ranks in the top 10% in that regard.

The Gunners gem is a worthy player to be compared to have been touted for a £50m move away from the Emirates of late, with the 22-year-old having proven himself to be an "unbelievable" talent during his latest stint in France, according to Reims boss Will Still.

With their north London rivals having an exciting striking talent on the books in the form of Balogun, perhaps Spurs could find Postecoglou's answer to the United States international with the signing of David.

Journalist Shares Update on £40m Arsenal Transfer

Journalist David Ornstein expects an agreement to be reached between Arsenal and Brentford for goalkeeper David Raya this summer with both clubs wanting to make a deal happen.

Is Raya joining Arsenal?

With Matt Turner reportedly on his way to Nottingham Forest, Mikel Arteta will need to step up his pursuit of a new goalkeeper in the remaining weeks of the transfer window.

That goalkeeper will be Brentford's Raya who has long been linked with a move away from the Bees. Earlier in the window rumours had surfaced linking him with Arsenal's rivals Tottenham Hotspur, before they turned their attention to Guglielmo Vicario, while a move to Bayern Munich to replace Yann Sommer was briefly on the cards.

However, it now appears that Arsenal are the team in pole position for the Spaniard's signature, with some reports even suggesting a deal has been agreed between the Gunners and Brentford.

Read the latest Arsenal transfer news HERE…

Brentford had always wanted a fee of £40m but it is thought that Arsenal are not willing to spend that much, meaning a compromise will have to be made.

Ornstein believes that a deal will be done between the two clubs and that Raya will move to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Speaking to HaytersTV, Ornstein stated: "By the time this goes out maybe it [Raya's Arsenal move] has already changed and developed. My expectation right now is that they're going to move towards an agreement with Brentford for David Raya.

"They were a bit short of where they needed to be with their initial offer. Brentford, prior to Arsenal sort of stepping forward, were quite clear in wanting £40m. Arsenal would want to go far lower than that, and maybe they'll meet somewhere in the middle. But it's a move that both clubs want to make happen, so you sense then a compromise will be found."

Despite being a two-cap Spanish international, Raya has played in England since he arrived at Blackburn Rovers in 2012. The 27-year-old joined Brentford in 2019 and has blossomed into one of the Premier League's best goalkeepers in recent years.

Arsenal already have Aaron Ramsdale at the club who impressed with his fine shot-stopping ability and technical qualities last season under Arteta, so whether Raya would come in and go straight in as the club's number one is unclear.

However, with Champions League football next season, Arteta may opt to have a cup goalkeeper and a league goalkeeper to keep both of them happy.

How good is Raya?

Raya played in all 38 matches in the Premier League last season for Brentford and has flourished since the Bees got promoted to the top division.

Compared to other goalkeepers in the Premier League last season, Raya impressed with both his feet and his hands, boasting some impressive numbers.

The Spaniard was in the top two percent of goalkeepers for saves per 90 and save percentage, as well as sitting in the top six percent for crosses stopped on average per 90, showing how well he commands his penalty area.

However, one of Raya's greatest strengths is his ability on the ball. Last season he ranked in the top two percent for passes attempted and completed passes over 40 yards, showcasing his quality both in terms of short and long passing.

Given Arteta's eagerness for his side to play out from the back, Raya's technical prowess could be pivotal in the Gunners' success next season.

Rangers Now Eyeing Deal To Sign £10k-A-Week Defender

Rangers are interested in completing the signing of Millwall centre-back Jake Cooper in the summer transfer window, and a new update has shared some insight on whether a deal will be affordable.

How much does Jake Cooper earn?

The 28-year-old, who currently earns £10,000 per week, has become an important player for his current club, having arrived from Reading back in 2017.

Cooper has made 302 appearances for Millwall to date, scoring 22 goals and chipping in with 17 assists, highlighting what an influential long-term player he has been for the Championship side. He is out of contract there at the end of next season, however, so they may decide to cash on him this summer, rather than lose him for free in 2024.

Rangers are still looking for new signings, in order to aid their Scottish Premiership title challenge in 2023/24, and a new central defender is arguably near the top of their wishlist. It looks as though the Millwall man could be an option for them, following a fresh update.

Will Rangers sign Jake Cooper?

According to Football Insider, the Gers are eyeing a summer move for Cooper, having looked to snap him up back in 2018:

"Rangers have set their sights on signing Millwall defender Jake Cooper, sources have told Football Insider. Cooper, 28, is entering the final year of his contract at The Den and could be signed for a cut-price fee.

"Rangers have held a long-term interest in the former Reading man and that has intensified in recent days with contact made over a potential deal. They submitted a £3million bid for him as long ago as the summer of 2018.

"Ibrox boss Michael Beale sees Cooper as a perfect addition to his squad as he looks to bolster his side’s defensive options."

This could be a really strong piece of business by Rangers, with Cooper now a hugely experienced defender who wouldn't be daunted by Scottish football, having held his own in such a tough league down the years.

His ability was once highlighted by current Millwall boss Gary Rowett, who said of the Englishman last year:

"I thought he was excellent today. As our captain, he gave a real leadership performance. And to cap it all with a goal that wins us the game was really nice."
Cooper has all the tools to be a success for the Gers, not least his aforementioned leadership skills, and at 28, there is no reason why he can't be a fixture in the back-line for the next four or five years. Last season, the 6 foot 6 giant averaged 3.1 clearances per game in the Championship, starting 45 out of 46 league matches and featuring in the other.
It is clear that progress still needs to be made at Ibrox this summer, considering Celtic remains the overriding favourites to retain their Scottish Premiership crown, but the acquiring the services of the Millwall stalwart could go a long way to making them a more formidable force.
The fact that Cooper once represented England's Under-18s and Under-19s, winning three caps along the way, again outlines what a highly-rated young player he once was, and how influential a figure he could be at Ibrox if a move is agreed in the near future.

Aston Villa In Contact To Sign £48k-p/w "Star Man" – Report

Aston Villa are in negotiations regarding a deal to sign Sevilla defender Marcos Acuna, but a new report has revealed that an offer is yet to have been submitted.

Where is Marcos Acuna from?

Acuna was originally born in Zapala, Argentina, but made the move to Spain when he joined Sevilla from Sporting CP back in 2020, and last season, he was a regular feature of Jose Luis Mendilibar’s first team having started 21 games in La Liga.

Despite still having another two years to run on his contract, the left-back firmly established himself as the overall second best-performing player at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium during the previous campaign with a WhoScored match rating of 6.78 which alerted Unai Emery, but it’s not the first time that he’s been linked with a move to the Premier League.

Back in December 2022, NSWE were credited with an admiration for the 31-year-old who the boss was reportedly “captivated” by, and whilst a deal failed to come to fruition in January, it sounds like chiefs are in the process of taking a second bite of the cherry if the following updates are to be believed.

Are Aston Villa signing Marcos Acuna?

According to Spanish reports (via Sport Witness), Aston Villa are "interested" in Acuna once again and there have already been "contacts betweeen all parties", supposedly including Sevilla, to discuss a summer swoop.

Monchi, who used to work at his target's club, has approached his old stomping ground, alongside the player's representatives, to present the project, so the defender is "aware" that he could be completing a move to the Midlands.

The Telegraph's John Percy has also since confirmed these claims by stating that the club are indeed working on a deal.

Sevilla defender Marcos Acuna.

Did Marcos Acuna win the World Cup?

Acuna was indeed a member of Argentina’s squad that won the 2022 World Cup in Qatar which just shows the calibre of player he is, therefore, if Aston Villa successfully manage to get a move wrapped up in the final couple of weeks of the window, it would be a huge coup considering the impact he makes at both ends of the pitch.

The Eleven Talent Group client, who pockets £48k-per-week, last season won 36 out of his 57 tackles which was the highest success rate throughout the whole of his squad, via FBRef, but he was just as much, if not more of a threat when bursting down the flank.

Sevilla’s left-footed gem whipped 147 crosses into the opposition’s penalty area which again was more than any of his fellow teammates, and this attacking mindset saw him provide four assists and score three goals across all competitions, as per Transfermarkt.

Emery will know that Acuna isn’t getting any younger at 31, but having been dubbed a “star man” by journalist Josh Bunting, he can still positively contribute so much so this is a deal that chiefs need to continue pursuing in order to get it over the line before September 1st.

Nottingham Forest Pushing To Sign Youssouf Fofana

Nottingham Forest are pushing to sign Monaco and France midfielder Youssouf Fofana this summer, but there could yet be a twist in the saga, according to reliable journalist David Ornstein.

How good is Youssouf Fofana?

The 24-year-old has risen to become a highly-rated footballer who is a key man for Monaco, making a total of 141 appearances for them to date.

In that time, Fofana has scored three goals and registered 11 assists, and he also featured six times for France at the 2022 World Cup, helping them reach the final that they eventually lost to Argentina.

The Frenchman's current Monaco deal expires at the end of next season, however, leaving them in something of a tricky situation when it comes to his future. Assuming he doesn't sign an extension, the Ligue 1 team will either have to sell him this summer in order to receive good money for his services or accept that he will be able to leave on a free transfer next June.

There is certainly interest in Fofana currently, which is no great surprise considering his ability, and with Forest looking to make some significant moves in the transfer market in the next couple of weeks, it appears as though the Reds are in the mix to sign him.

youssouf-fofana-premier-league-west-ham-transfers

Will Nottingham Forest sign Youssouf Fofana?

Taking to Twitter X, The Athletic's Ornstein dropped a key update regarding Fofana's future, claiming that Forest have made a big verbal offer, but there is a twist with other clubs still looking to hijack the deal:

"Nottingham Forest have made verbal proposal to sign Youssouf Fofana from Monaco. €35m + add-ons offer meets #ASMonaco expectation. #NFFC also speaking with 24yo France int’l to try to agree terms. Other clubs closely monitoring situation."

Forest signing Fofana would feel like a huge statement of intent by the club, considering his pedigree as a footballer and some of the clubs who have been linked with him recently, including Liverpool and Chelsea.

His performances in the heart of Monaco's midfield sum up what a great addition he would be at the City Ground this summer, having averaged 2.3 tackles per game across 36 league appearances last season, of which 35 were starts.

To have won 10 caps for a star-studded France side further outlines the quality at Fofana's disposal, and at 24 years of age, it would be a surprise if that tally didn't rise significantly as the years pass, especially as the likes of N'Golo Kante and Paul Pogba gradually move on from the international scene.

The midfielder has been described as a "wonderful" player by football talent scout Jacek Kulig and Forest snapping him up could add so much quality and character to their midfield, as they look to kick on from last season and ensure they don't get sucked into a relegation battle.

The Monaco man is now a proven player at the very top level – he came on during extra-time in the World Cup final against Argentine – so the Reds must do all they can to reach an agreement, in what could be a significant piece of business.

Luke Shaw replacement: Man United could sign Estupinan 2.0

Manchester United are in the market to sign a new defender after news that Luke Shaw could miss months of action, rather than weeks.

The muscle injury has left Erik ten Hag without a senior left-back with Tyrell Malacia also out with his own injury problem.

Who could replace Luke Shaw at Man United?

The Red Devils are thought to be considering three options, as per Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist claims that Marc Cucurella at Chelsea is one possibility on a potential loan deal.

However, Sky Sports suggests it is a different Premier League left-back who is the subject of United's focus before the window closes on Friday evening.

They claimed on Saturday evening that Tottenham's Sergio Reguilon is now an option.

The £13m-rated full-back can leave Spurs before the market shuts, but they face competition from Fulham, who would no doubt be able to offer the player more game time in the long term.

How good is Sergio Reguilon?

Now 26, the Spaniard has endured a rough few years after trading Spanish football for the Premier League.

In the 2019/20 season, he played a pivotal role in Sevilla's Europe League triumph but has found consistency rather hard to come by since.

sergio-reguilon-real-madrid-tottenham-hotspur-emerson-transfer

He hasn't played 30 league games once after moving to Spurs and was forced to move to Atletico Madrid last term on a loan deal in order to play more regularly. That said, he could only manage 11 La Liga outings in another difficult term.

That said, if any coach can extract the best from Reguilon, they would be unearthing a fine flying wing-back.

You only need to head back to that Europe League winning season to understand that.

Indeed, during that campaign he was compared, as per FBref, to former Real Madrid superstar Marcelo, and one of the best left-backs in the Premier League now, Pervis Estupinan.

At the time, Estupinan was playing at Osasuna before bursting onto the scene with Brighton a few years later.

pervis-estupinan-liverpool-transfer-news-opinion-premier-league

That term, Reguilon ranked inside the best 3% of full-backs in La Liga for progressive carries and touches in the attacking penalty area, the top 7% for successful take-ons and the best 8% for shot-creating actions.

Those metrics paint the picture that the now Spurs man is an incredibly offensive asset on his day, one that would certainly help to fill the void that Shaw will leave behind while on the treatment table.

Estupinan, for comparison, sat inside the best 15% for shot-creating actions that same season, the top 6% for successful take-ons and the best 7% for progressive carries to illustrate their impressive range of similarities.

Of course, the Ecuadorian has been a great deal more impressive in the Premier League after he made his own move to English football, notably registering ten assists in 44 games to Reguilon's nine in 67 outings but the evidence is there that the Spaniard could make his mark in equal manner.

He has never really had the manager to extract the best from him at Tottenham. Antonio Conte's style of play, for instance, was too defensive even if he does prefer wing-backs in his system.

Ten Hag, however, could be a game-changer as far as Reguilon is concerned. It's just whether he sees himself achieving regular minutes once Shaw returns.

West Ham: Journalist Shares important Jesse Lingard Update

Journalist Pete O'Rourke has shared an important update on West Ham United and a possible return for ex-midfield star Jesse Lingard.

Who have West Ham signed 2023?

The Hammers and manager David Moyes enjoyed a productive summer transfer window overall, sealing deals for Mexico international midfielder Edson Alvarez, ex-Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse, defender Konstantinos Mavropanos and Ghana star Mohammed Kudus.

Declan Rice's £105 million departure to Arsenal, alongside Gianluca Scamacca's transfer to Atalanta, seemingly bolstered West Ham's transfer kitty enough for them to spend big on the aforementioned quartet.

Kudus, who excelled for Ghana at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and for Ajax at club level last season, arguably stands out as their most exciting capture of the summer window.

“I’m delighted we’ve been able to bring Mohammed to West Ham United,” said the Irons manager after Kudus' arrival.

“He’s a terrific young talent, who has already shone at the very highest level for Ajax in the Champions League and made well over 150 senior appearances at the age of 23 – so it was no surprise to see so many top clubs chasing his signature this summer.

“The fact we’ve been able to attract a player of his undoubted quality to London Stadium shows the pull West Ham have now – the Board and Tim deserve huge credit for getting this one over the line.”

David-moyes-transfer-west-ham-united-deadline-day

Despite the summer window's closure on September 1, there have been rumours surrounding West Ham and their possible dip into the free agent market.

Indeed, reports suggest that they potentially have their eyes on a free agent striker; coming after they were thwarted in their deadline day attempts to sign Paris-Saint Germain forward Hugo Ekitike.

Meanwhile, former Irons star Lingard is another to be linked with a short-term contract, as the 32-cap England international has been training with West Ham in a bid to maintain his fitness.

The 30-year-old has apparently been impressing on-lookers at Rush Green, with reporter O'Rourke sharing an important update on their possible free agent offer for Lingard.

jesse-lingard-nottingham-forest-premier-league-transfers

Writing for Football Insider, he claims West Ham are still very much considering tabling a proposal for Lingard.

The former Man United attacker snubbed the chance to re-join them permanently last summer, instead choosing Nottingham Forest, but things didn't quite work out at the City Ground.

Lingard could be offered a short term West Ham deal after turning a heads at the club, though there is little else mentioned on the nature of timeline of this move.

What's been said about Jesse Lingard?

Former Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking to FI last summer, claimed Lingard would be an "excellent signing" for West Ham.

“West Ham will be looking to strengthen,” Kenny said in 2022.

“They need an out-and-out striker but I think Lingard would be an excellent signing. I hope West Ham do go back in for him.

“He has an unbelievable time at West Ham. I heard rumours last week that he might be going to America.

“I hope he doesn’t, it would be a waste. I want to see him back in the Premier League. When he was playing week in week out he was unbelievable.

The player excelled in east London on a 2020/2021 loan spell from Man United, scoring nine goals and registering four assists over 16 league starts.
