Graeme Smith, the former South Africa captain, has been named tournament director and brand ambassador for the Ram Slam T20 Challenge.Smith retired from international cricket in March this year and announced in July that he will not complete his three-year deal with Surrey following knee surgery. He had hinted when he retired that he may not go into coaching but was interested in the business aspect of cricket.Haroon Lorgat, the CSA chief executive, said that the board wanted to use Smith’s experience to grow the tournament. Smith’s responsibilities will include driving public and media awareness, assisting in recruiting foreign players to participate in the event, and overseeing the draft system and the allocation of foreign players to the franchises.”When Graeme showed a desire to learn about the business of sport, it was clear to me that he would be the ideal person to direct and promote the tournament as we look to build on the success of last season,” Lorgat said. “With an enviable playing career at international level as a leader, Graeme has much to offer the game of cricket. تحدث مارسيل كولر المدير الفني لـ فريق الأهلي عن مباراته المقبلة أمام إنبي ضمن منافسات كأس مصر، معلقًا على ضغط المباريات وتضارب المواعيد بين التوقف الدولي ومباريات الفريق بدوري السوبر الإفريقي.

وكان الأهلي قد فاز على سان جورج الإثيوبي مساء أمس بنتيجة 4-0 في إياب دور الـ32 من دوري أبطال إفريقيا.

وقال كولر في تصريحات تلفزيونية عبر قناة “الأهلي”: “لدينا قائمة كبيرة من اللاعبين، وشاهدنا في نهاية الموسم الماضي، كانت أمامنا مباريات كثيرة جدًا وكنا في حالة إرهاق سواء بدني أو ذهني”.

وأكمل: “هذا الإرهاق يحتاج إلى تدوير اللاعبين فأنا أهتم جدًا بمشاركة جميع العناصر المتواجدة في الفريق، لا يوجد لدي لاعب أساسي وآخر احتياطي، وشاهدنا أغلب اللاعبين كانوا يشاركون لأننا مقبلين على ضغط مباريات”.

وأردف: “عندما تكون هناك إصابات يجب أن أعطي الفرصة للكل، ويكون لدي ثقة في اللاعبين، وهم على قدر هذه الثقة وظهروا بشكل ممتاز، وهذا شيء أسعدني كثيرًا، فكرة التدوير مهمة جدًا لكي نستطيع استكمال الموسم”.

وأشار: “الموسم الحالي ظروفه مختلفة بعض الشيء، لأن فترة الإعداد كانت قصيرة ولم تكن أفضل شيء بسبب ضغط المباريات وبداية البطولات، هذا أدى إلى رؤية لاعبين غير جاهزين في أول مباراة بالسوبر الإفريقي”.

وأضاف: “أهم شيء بالنسبة لي حاليًا أن أمامنا مباراة مع إنبي بكأس مصر، ولدينا طموح للمكسب ونستطيع التأهل إلى النهائي، بعد ذلك سيكون أمامنا مباراة في الدوري واللاعبين الدوليين سينضمون للمنتخبات، والآخرين سأعطي لهم راحة”.

واستطرد عن ضغط المباريات للاعبين الدوليين ومواعيد بطولة دوري السوبر الإفريقي: “هم سيشاركون مع منتخبات بلادهم للأسف وهذا ضغط كبير جدًا، سأستخدم قدر الإمكان ألفاظي وسأنتقيها في هذا الأمر، تم وضع مباريات الدوري الإفريقي في مواعيد غير ملائمة على الإطلاق”.

وأوضح: “لم تتم مراعاة أن الأهلي لديه لاعبين كثيرين جدًا دوليين، ليسوا في منتخب مصر فقط، بل لدينا في مالي وجنوب إفريقيا وتونس، سيلعبون في كل مكان على الكوكب، وعدد ساعات سفر طويلة جدًا، إفريقيا ليست مثل أوروبا، ساعات السفر كثيرة جدًا”.

واختتم: “من وضع هذه المواعيد لم يراعي هذه الظروف، ولا نعرف حتى هؤلاء اللاعبين هل سيستطيعون اللحاق بمباراة سيمبا أم لا، ولا نعرف مدى جاهزيتهم، ولكن سنحاول أن نتعامل مع المعطيات المتواجدة والخروج بأفضل شيء”.

The visitors closed on 244 for 3 in their second innings, an overall lead of 222 after they had bowled Notts out for 413 in their first innings.Joyce, five days short of his 36th birthday, stroked his eighth first-class century of the season in making an unbeaten 115, scoring his runs from 117 balls with 12 fours and three maximums.The Sussex captain had made an unbeaten 204 on the same ground last season and combined with Chris Nash to put on 152 for the second wicket. Nash, who made 178 in the first innings, seemed on course for a second century in the match before nicking Luke Fletcher behind for 85.The pair had come together after opener Michael Yardy had fallen cheaply, giving Fletcher his 200th first-class wicket. That was the end of the good news as far as the afternoon session went for Notts as Nash and Joyce rattled along at more than five runs an over in putting on 136 in 22.4 overs before tea.Both batsmen reached their fifties in the same over – the 22nd, bowled by Gary Keedy. Joyce got there from 52 balls, with seven fours and a six and Nash followed two balls later, having faced 61 balls with eight fours. And when asked if he would like to continue as the one-day captain until the World Cup, Afridi had said, “I think whoever is captain – Misbah or me – we should know about it. If I am to captain in the World Cup then I should know about it.”With Misbah-ul-Haq having said that he wasn’t a given to lead the side at the World Cup, Afridi’s statement had added to growing doubts about who would lead Pakistan in the World Cup, but Shaharyar dismissed them stating Misbah had the boards backing to lead Pakistan in the World Cup. The PCB in a release last month had stated that Misbah would lead Pakistan at the World Cup.”I want to tell you categorically that it’s incorrect (the uncertainty),” Shaharyar said. “The PCB has nominated Misbah as captain until the World Cup and there’s no change in it.
