Marcel Brands should seal a Carlo Ancelotti reunion for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot amid claims of a possible summer transfer to Everton.

What’s the word?

According to France Football, via Sport Witness, Ancelotti is willing the Toffees to meet Juve’s €30m (£26m) asking price to acquire the services of the French midfielder.

The Blues boss handed Rabiot his Paris Saint-Germain debut whilst in charge at Les Parc des Princes in 2012, and appears keen on reuniting with his former charge at Goodison Park.

Reports from France follow claims in Italy from over the weekend, which suggested the Juve hierarchy were considering an offer from an English side thought to have been Everton.

The Toffees were also linked with Rabiot during the January transfer window, when it was suggested that negotiations were underway regarding a potential loan-to-buy deal, while claims last summer suggested Goodison Park was his most likely destination.

Rabiot is currently not said to be a non-transferable player in Turin despite finding a home in Andrea Pirlo’s plans, and would be allowed to leave the Allianz Stadium for €30m.

The £176,000-per-week maestro has drifted in and out of the Old Lady’s starting line-up this term but opened Pirlo’s last two Serie A fixtures, taking his record to 12 starts in 18 outings.

He has also started and played all but 16 minutes of Juventus’ Coppa Italia campaign so far, in which Pirlo’s side eliminated league title rivals Inter Milan while recording his only assist of the season in a 4-0 win over SPAL.

Should Everton sign Rabiot?

Everton signing Rabiot could prove to be a rumour that endlessly rumbles on and the arrival of Ancelotti has only given more fuel to the speculation, given their prior connection at PSG.

But the Blues’ Director of Football Brands should pursue the idea of bringing Rabiot to Goodison Park, as the 11-cap international could be the next player from Ancelotti’s past to move to Merseyside and thrive after Allan’s successful switch from SSC Napoli last summer.

While a hamstring injury has kept Allan out of action for the past two months, the Brazilian continues to rank first at Everton for ground duels won having come out on top in 6.58 duels a game – Tom Davies, who has stood in as the holding midfielder of late, offers 3.14, per SofaScore.

Allan also ranks first for average successful tackles a game among those to have featured more than once with 3.42, while Abdoulaye Doucoure registers 1.71, Andre Gomes 1.47 and Davies 1.14 among Ancelotti’s other regular engine room options.

Based on his efforts in the Serie A this season, Rabiot would slot in above Davies for ground duels won with success in 3.8 or 60% of his contests, while eclipsing Doucoure for tackles with 2.0 a game.

If Ancelotti is able to unlock even more from the 25-year-old, Everton would not go all that wrong by reuniting Rabiot with the Italian tactician. And with the Blues eying European football, another experienced head may come in handy next season.

وتابع: “لكن معرفة أنهم قد تم تطعيمهم جميعًا يعني أنهم سيكونون بخير بعد عدة أيام يتم عزلهم، إن رفاهية اللاعبين والناس هي أهم شيء في الوقت الحالي”.

وأتم كلوب: “ربما لا يكون إيقاف الدوري هو الشيء الصحيح ولكن مع الجدول الزمني علينا أن نكون أكثر مرونة، يمكننا التحدث عن مسابقات الكأس، هل نحتاج حقًا إلى لعب نصف نهائي وإعادة اللعب، وكل هذه الأشياء”.

Liverpool are reportedly showing an interest in Sevilla winger Lucas Ocampos ahead of the summer transfer window, with recent reports suggesting that Takumi Minamino could be included in a swap deal with the Argentinian.

What’s the word?

According to the Express, Jurgen Klopp is tracking the 26-year-old with a keen interest, although reports from Spain claim that the Reds would have to pay his £56 million release clause if they wanted to bring him to Anfield.

The Express suggests that Liverpool would not be keen to pay the full fee, and are therefore exploring the option of including Minamino in a potential deal that would see Ocampos make the move to Anfield.

Would Ocampos be a good signing?

Whilst Ocampos has struggled to match his superb form from last season this time out, the former Marseille man has still managed four goals and four assists in 21 appearances, resulting in a solid 7.05 rating.

Last season saw the winger manage 14 goals and three assists in the Spanish top-flight, resulting in a superb 7.21 average rating, which ranked him in WhoScored’s top 10 rated players across the season.

Therefore, it seems fair to suggest that he would be a serious upgrade on Minamino if he were to join. His signing could also effectively allow Klopp to kill two birds with one stone, as his arrival could ease the pressure on Mohamed Salah to score goals in this Liverpool side, whilst also allowing the Reds to cash in on the Japanese international.

Since arriving from RB Salzburg last season, the 26-year-old, who reportedly earns £75k per week at Liverpool, has made 31 appearances for the Reds, managing just three goals and two assists.

He was sent on loan to Southampton in January, where he scored two goals in his first three games for the club, which could increase his value ahead of the summer if Klopp isn’t convinced that he deserves to stay with the Merseyside outfit.

Certainly, Ocampos would offer much more of a goal threat than Minamino when you consider his impressive contributions in his time at Sevilla, so Klopp and Michael Edwards should definitely try and bring him to Anfield this summer, even if it means losing Minamino.

وقالت الصحيفة إنه إذا تبين أن بيدري ليس جاهزًا بنسبة 100% لمباراة ريال مايوركا، سيتم منحه عدة أيام أخرى ليكون جاهزًا للعب من جديد تمامًا.

Carlo Ancelotti must ruthlessly axe Bernard from the Everton starting line-up for Monday’s Premier League clash with top four rivals Chelsea.

The Toffees visit Stamford Bridge with a chance to move above Thomas Tuchel’s Blues in the race for Champions League qualification, having lost ground after the west Londoners’ 1-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield on Thursday night.

Everton momentarily sat fourth after beating West Bromwich Albion thanks to a sole strike from Richarlison, after the Brazilian headed home his 12th goal of the season in all competitions by connecting with Gylfi Sigurdsson’s delivery.

Bernard had opened the midweek affair at The Hawthorns for only his third start of the Premier League campaign, as Ancelotti sought to afford Sigurdsson a rest after the Iceland playmaker featured in Monday night’s 1-0 win at home to Southampton.

Ancelotti was without summer signing James Rodriguez against Sam Allardyce’s relegation-threatened Baggies due to injury, and the Colombian remains a concern for Monday’s trip to the capital to face Tuchel’s high-flying Chelsea.

The Blues are unbeaten in their 10 games played under the former Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund head coach to date, winning seven and drawing three of all fixtures across all competitions since his appointment in January.

Everton have claimed 14 points from a possible 27 in the Premier League to Chelsea’s 18 from 24 in the same period, only Manchester City (24 out of 24) have claimed more than the Londoners.

If the Toffees are to now deal Chelsea their first defeat under Tuchel, Ancelotti will have to axe Bernard, having seen the Brazilian maestro fail to offer anywhere near enough during his time on the field against West Brom.

While the intent was often there from Bernard on Thursday, his influence on proceedings was far too infrequent, and not much of what the £13.5m-rated midfielder attempted came off.

A January target for United Arab Emirates outfit Al Nasr, the Brazilian’s best moment of the match came late in the first half when he was involved in a nice piece of interplay with Abdoulaye Doucoure and Dominic Calvert-Lewin which would only result in Richarlison’s effort being deflected out for a corner.

Bernard can argue that he was not match-sharp, having only played 22 minutes of Premier League football since starting on New Year’s Day before featuring at The Hawthorns, but his display only served to prove why Ancelotti is seemingly reluctant to field the 28-year-old. He failed to pick out a team-mate from any of his crosses and gave the ball away 16 times, a figure exceeded by just one Everton player (via SofaScore).

Sigurdsson, in contrast, made his impact tell from the off after replacing Doucoure in the 64th minute, with the former Swansea City playmaker providing the delivery for Richarlison’s goal and earning Ancelotti’s praise post-game.

“I think when he came in, we changed the system on the pitch, we played with a diamond,” the Italian said, via quotes from the Liverpool Echo’s Adam Jones. “When Sigurdsson came in, he played his game, he played 30 minutes with confidence.”

Ancelotti will need that confidence from all of his players at Stamford Bridge if Everton are to beat Chelsea, and Bernard will not be expected to offer it.
