Speaking exclusively to Bwin, former Tottenham striker Louis Saha shared his views on Manchester United’s current situation, Moise Kean’s transfer to Everton, and a number of topics related to his old side, Spurs.
Specifically, the former France international spoke about another Frenchman in Moussa Sissoko and the qualities that he brings to the north London side.
The former Newcastle star, who Spurs signed for £30m, was instrumental in helping his team overturn a 1-0 deficit to record a 3-1 win over Aston Villa, grabbing the assist for one of Harry Kane’s two goals after a lung-busting run.
What did he say?
Saha said: “Sissoko was a machine last season, there is no one in the league that can compete with his physicality. He can bombard forward to support his strikers in a way no one else can. Importantly, he never forgets about the defensive side to his game.
“He is an engine, he can run backwards and forwards all day.”
Perfect traits for a right-back
We all know that the 29-year-old is a fine athlete who can run all day long, and is also a player who would run through brick walls for this Tottenham side given his resurgence in recent seasons.
Saha mentions that Sissoko can ‘bombard forward to support his strikers’ but also ‘never forgets about the defensive side’, two traits that suggest he could be a decent last resort for Pochettino if he is in need of a right-back over the course of the season – those two features are now key aspects of a modern full-back’s game.
After Kieran Trippier departed for Atletico Madrid, Pochettino has been left with Serge Aurier, a player who reportedly wants to leave, and Juan Foyth, a centre-back who looked set to be shoehorned in at right-back this season before getting injured in pre-season.
22-year-old Kyle Walker-Peters is the only other option and is the man who Pochettino entrusted to start against Villa, where he fared quite well on the right of defence.
If it gets to a point where the Spurs boss has no other options over the course of the campaign however, either because of injuries or more departures, Sissoko’s traits, pinpointed by Saha, could make him a reliable option to slot in and cover the role for a few games.

Jefferson Montero made his Birmingham City debut in Tuesday night’s 2-0 win over Barnsley, replacing Alvaro Gimenez in the 80th minute.
The Ecuadorian may not have scored, but he certainly gave a sign of what he can do for Blues going forward, as he twisted the opposition defenders inside out.
To the delight of many, he then went and tweeted a mini-montage of his exploits on the pitch:
Many Bluenoses are thrilled to see him join the club, though another part some fans picked up on is the reference to Chucho.
Christian Benitez represented Birmingham 36 times, scoring four goals and assisting six times, as per Transfermarkt, becoming a much-loved figure in the process.
The wide sense of feeling is that if Montero can reach the same sort of level his countryman did in Birmingham then he will also become a very popular figure at St. Andrews’.

Leeds face another outing against Stoke this week, their second in just four days as the Carabao Cup returns.
The Whites defeated Salford with relative ease in their opening League Cup encounter of the season but this provides a stiffer test than the League Two outfit did a couple of weeks ago.
Marcelo Bielsa’s men are currently unbeaten this term so will be looking to carry on that record after defeating the Potters 3-0 a matter of days ago.
However, who will start on this occasion? Our predicted XI tips the Argentine to make five changes.
The Whites decided to play with a different formation at the weekend, opting for three in defence but back at home, it wouldn’t be a great surprise if Bielsa reverted to his tried and tested 4-1-4-1 formation.
This means that there could be a number of changes to his starting XI.
The first one to note is Illan Meslier. The Frenchman is yet to play for the first-team yet but has featured for the U23s.
After a few weeks to get used to Leeds’ methods, now seems like the ideal time to hand him his chance after arriving on loan from Lorient.
Further opportunities could also be given to Helder Costa and Eddie Nketiah.
The pair combined for the opening goal against Salford whilst the same combination was on hand against Brentford. That means that Patrick Bamford will likely be rested.
There may also be a role given to Mateusz Bogusz who is yet to feature in competitive action for the Whites despite scoring against Western Sydney Wanderers in pre-season.
Kalvin Phillips and Mateusz Klich both started the last League Cup outing so could play again. Given the opposition is stronger, Jack Clarke may have to sit out once more with a degree of familiarity preferred.
Bielsa has been talking up Jamie Shackleton recently so he may be given a start at right back in place of Stuart Dallas.
We’re also tipping Liam Cooper to miss out again after the Leeds boss favoured a cautious approach with the defender at the weekend.

وأكد ماسكيراتو: “أراه جيدًا، إلى جانب حقيقة أن برشلونة لا يمر بأفضل لحظاته الرياضية، فإن لغة جسده وأدائه طوال الموسم لم تتغير مقارنة بما كان يفعله منذ خمسة عشر عامًا، وبهذا المعنى أراه جيدًا”.
ويعترف ماسكيرانو أنه يفتقد اللعب مع ميسي، وتابع: “من الغريب عدم اللعب معه وهو يعاني، عندما تعتاد على وجود الأفضل بجانبك، إذا لم يكن لديك.. كرة القدم هي رياضة جماعية وكلما زادت جودة زملائك في الفريق كان أداؤك أفضل”.
وأستطرد: “عندما تغادر برشلونة تبدأ في تجربة حقيقة كرة القدم نفسها، في كثير من الأحيان عندما نجتمع مع زملائنا السابقين في الفريق نقول إن اللعب هناك كان رائعًا لما كان علينا أن نعيشه، ولكن في نفس الوقت يكون هناك فراغ كبير جدًا عندما تغادر، وبهذا المعنى فإنك تعاني أيضًا”.

Liverpool only signed one senior player this summer but fans are impressed with the man in question, Adrian.
The goalkeeper has adjusted to life at his new club well considering the circumstances in which he was drafted in to the team’s no.1 spot, and other than a calamitous mistake against Southampton he has barely put a foot wrong.
He had big boots to fill in replacing the injured Champions League Goalkeeper of the Year Alisson, but he has looked assured in organising the defence and his shot-stopping has helped Liverpool conceded only three goals in his four league games.
Adrian was also the hero in the Super Cup, saving a Chelsea penalty in the shoot-out to claim the first piece of silverware in his career.
Many Liverpool fans are impressed with the signing and believe that he could even rival Alisson’s place in the team should he continue his strong start, whilst others suggest he is an upgrade on some of the previous keepers to have played under Jurgen Klopp.

وتم اصطياد مونشي من خلال كاميرات قناة “موفيستار+” الإسبانية، وهو يسخر من المدرب رونالد كومان أثناء اعتراضه على قرار حكم اللقاء.
وقال مونشي: “تصريحاته والبكاء السبب في احتساب تلك القرارات، يصيح مثل الطفل الباكي”.
جاء ذلك عندما حصل دييجو كارلوس على كارت أصفر من الحكم هيرنانديز، ما أثار غضب مونشي الذي صرخ بتلك الكلمات.
الملعب لم يكن به جماهير، وهو ما جعل صوت مونشي عاليًا، ليتأكد مدرب بشلونة أن الكلام موجه له، لينظر إلى مونشي وهو يضحك بطريقة ساخرة دون التحدث بأي كلمة.
الأمر لم يتوقف هنا، فقد صرخ المدير الرياضي لـ إشبيلية أثناء رفض الحكم طرد ميسي في لعبة كان من المفترض أن يحصل فيها على كارت أصفر ثانٍ حسب وجهة نظره، وقال مونشي: “إنها الثانية، ولا نرى من يصيح”.
في تلك اللعبة، اعترض المدرب جوليان لوبيتيجي على قرار الحكم، مما جعل هيرنانديز يذهب ويعطيه كارت أصفر للاعتراض.
