Burnley will be hoping to perform considerably better next season after a disappointing campaign on the whole this time round.

The Clarets did though manage to preserve their Premier League status for another season, and manager Sean Dyche will no doubt look to his board for some support this summer as he seeks to bring in new players who can improve his squad.

Dyche looks like he is already making plans to improve the first XI too, with reports this week linking the Lancashire club with a £15m move for West Brom defender Craig Dawson.

The 29-year-old has long been a thorn in the side of many opposition teams, with his threat from set-pieces something he has built a bit of a reputation around. Indeed, Dawson knocked in three goals again last season from centre half as the Baggies missed out on promotion from the Championship.

Interestingly too, Dawson also managed over three clearances per game for Albion, an impressive stat which shows just how important he is in the heart of defence.

Dawson is your typical English central defender too, and has been no nonsense throughout his career. However, he is comfortable on the ball when in possession, and he would be the perfect fit for a team like Burnley you would have to assume.

Dyche has long been a believer in adding value for money to his squad, and in Dawson, he would be getting someone who knows the Premier League, is reliable and can fit into the system Burnley operate with relative ease.

أعلن وليد سليمان لاعب فريق الكرة الأول بالنادي الأهلي، إصابته هو ونجله بفيروس كورونا “كوفيد 19”.

وكان النادي الأهلي قد أصدر بيانًا صباح اليوم، يؤكد خلاله خضوع سليمان لمسحة جديدة بعد المسحة التي أجراها الفريق بالكامل أمس.

وكشف وليد عن حالته في تصريح مقتضب عبر صفحته الرسمية بموقع التواصل الاجتماعي “فيس بوك”، قائلًا: “الحمد لله من قبل ومن بعد انا وسليم ايجابي كورونا، دعواتكم”.

يذكر، أن وليد سليمان قاد الأهلي للفوز على أبو قير للأسمدة في دور الثمانية من بطولة كأس مصر، بتسجيله هدفين في اللقاء الذي أنتهى بنتيجة 2-1.

وتجدر الإشارة إلى أن فريق النادي الأهلي ينتظره مواجهة مرتقبة أمام الزمالك مساء الجمعة المقبل في نهائي دوري أبطال افريقيا.

Rangers fans aren’t keen on reports that suggest the club are on the verge of signing Greg Stewart, with The Scottish Sun claiming that he has agreed a two-year deal to move to Ibrox.

The paper say the deal will be announced over the coming days.

Stewart has spent the season loan at Kilmarnock and Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership, scoring 10 goals and creating 10 assists, proving to be an effective talent in the top-flight.

There are some question marks about his ability to produce consistent form though, with his half-season on loan at the Dons far less impressive than his Rugby Park spell.

It’s not the most fashionable of signings, but Steven Gerrard clearly has a policy of signing the best players available in the Scotland and Stewart was certainly a stand-out in 2018/19.

Eric Dier has been urged to repeat his training ground heroics in the Champions League final by excited Tottenham Hotspur fans after a video emerged of him scoring a brilliant free-kick.

The England international, who netted a stunning set-piece against Russia at Euro 2016, was videoed practicing free-kicks prior to Saturday’s mammoth clash with Liverpool.

Dier, who can play as both a midfielder and a defender, bent the ball into the top corner via the post, leaving his teammates awe-struck.

And supporters have urged him to repeat the trick when Mauricio Pochettino’s men bid to win their first ever Champions League trophy.

Spurs have qualified for the final after a miraculous run that has seen them draw with Barcelona in the group stages and beat Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City and Ajax in the knockout rounds.

Dier has made a total of five appearances in Europe this season and has only completed the 90 minutes once, in the first fixture, a 2-1 defeat to Inter Milan.

He was on the bench for both legs of the semi-final but, still, supporters are hopeful that he could well see the net ripple in Madrid.

According to Football Insider, Leeds United are looking to loan Brandon Barker from Manchester City this summer.

It has been heavily speculated that the Whites will have to focus on signing Premier League loan players again this summer, but Barker surely isn’t the calibre of player Leeds need if they are to get promoted.

Barker’s credentials

You have to wonder what Leeds see in Barker to make them believe he is the man to aid them in their quest to get back into the Premier League.

He played just 521 minutes for Preston on loan last season, and that should ring alarm bells in many fans’ heads.

This deal looks like Leeds are set to make the same mistakes they made last summer by signing loan players who aren’t up to scratch.

Need more experience

Marcelo Bielsa may have a reputation for getting the best out of young footballers, but when Leeds aren’t going to reap the rewards in the long term is there any point?

Barker would join the squad as an inexperienced player who has never truly impressed at this level, and Leeds may be better off going for someone who has flourished in the Championship.

Callum O’Dowda is a name that has been linked recently by The Mirror’s live transfer blog (May 20, 11:25pm), and he would be a much better option than Barker at this point.

Leeds aren’t in a position where they can afford to waste any time on players who may join the team and immediately prove that they’re not good enough, and Barker’s recent loan spell suggests that he is no more than a squad-filler at Championship level.

If the Whites instead went for O’Dowda they would know that they’re getting a fantastic player at this level rather than taking a gamble on another Premier League youngster that may not pan out.

West Ham United are closing in on the £24m signing of Pablo Fornals from Villarreal, Football FanCast can confirm.

The Hammers have thus far signed two goalkeepers in this transfer window, Roberto and David Martin, but are now poised to bring in their first outfield signing of the summer.

Multiple sources have claimed that a deal to secure the attacking midfielder’s signature has accelerated over the past 24 hours and that the club are now confident of announcing the transfer in the next few days.

And Football FanCast can confirm that a deal has been struck between the two clubs, which will see the Hammers pay £24m for the 23-year-old, a player for whom Manuel Pellegrini has explicitly asked.

Co-owners David Gold and David Sullivan are determined to deliver the manager the targets that he has requested and a move for Fornals is a key part of that strategy.

A full Spain international who has won two caps for his country, he scored five goals and registered six assists in all competitions in 2018/19.

A bid for Celta Vigo’s Stanislav Lobotka, a deeper-lying midfielder, had been mooted but the Irons cooled that interest after the cost spiralled and they discovered that they would not be able to sign both the Slovakia international and his team-mate, Maxi Gomez, for under £60m.

West Ham’s Director of Football, Mario Husillos, has driven the signing of Fornals, and there is a confidence at this stage that the deal is all but done.

He has yet to sign his contract but sources expect that to be a formality. It would be a surprise were the move to fall through at this stage.

It remains to be seen how the Hammers will approach the remainder of their summer business but their interest in Gomez remains strong and the club would also like to acquire a defender.

Along with Gomez, the club have scouted Salomon Rondon at West Bromwich Albion – he spent the season on loan at Newcastle United – and Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic.

وكان الإسماعيلي قد أعلن التعاقد مع 5 صفقات، وهم رضوان شريفي وفخر الدين بن يوسف وأري بابل وأحمد مصطفى ومحمد عادل.

وتابع: “الصحراوي اختار الالتحاق بالدوري المصري خصوصا أن العرض المالي الذي تقدم به مسؤولو “الدراويش” يمثل ضعف ما تقدم به النادي الرياضي الصفاقسي”.

ويتواجد في قائمة الإسماعيلي في الوقت الجالي خمسة لاعبين أجانب، هم بينسون شيلونجو وبيكيتي وأري بابل ورضوان شريفي وفخر الدين بن يوسف.

وإذا تم التعاقد رسمياً مع اللاعب، فعلي النادي الإسماعيلي أن يعلن رحيل أحد الخماسي المتواجد.
