حين عانى مركز الظهير الأيمن في الزمالك بعد هروب التونسي حمدي النقاز والإصابات المتتالية لـ حازم إمام، لجأ الجهاز الفني إلى قطاع الناشئين ليجد ضالته في الناشىء الموهوب أحمد عيد.

وشهد تشكيل فريق الكرة الأول بنادي الزمالك لعب ضد الرجاء المغربي في ذهاب نصف نهائي دوري أبطال إفريقيا وجود أساسيًا، بعدما عانى حازم إمام من الإصابة.

وانتاب التخوف جمهور الزمالك من الدفع بأحمد عيد في التشكيل الأساسي، لعدم امتلاكه الخبرة الكافية في مواجهة نصف نهائي البطولة الأكبر في القارة.

ورغم ذلك، ظهر عيد بمستوى جيد جدًا خاصة على المستوى الدفاعي، نال على إثره اشادة الجهاز الفني للزمالك بقيادة البرتغالي جيمي باتشيكو.

أمير عبد العزيز المدرب العام السابق بالزمالك ومدرب عيد في قطاع الناشئين – تحدث لـ “بطولات” – عن مميزات مستقبل الجبهة اليمنى في القلعة البيضاء.

وقال عبد العزيز في تصريحاته: “كنت شاهدًا على بدايات أحمد عيد مع الزمالك حينما أتى إلى النادي ليخضع إلى الاختبارات في الأهلي تحت إشراف أحمد عبد المقصود، وعندما تابعته رأيت فيه كل المميزات التي تجعله ناشئًا مميزًا في الزمالك”.

يملك جينات طارق حامد

يملك عيد عدة مميزات وصفات جعلت الزمالك يقرر قيده، ويشرح مدربه في تصريحاته قائلاً: “عيد يملك الشخصية القوية والسرعة والارتقاء العالي وقطع الكرات بشكل جيد، بجانب التغطية الدفاعية والجرأة في الالتحامات، هذه الصفات التي كنا نود ايجادها في أي ناشئ بالزمالك”.

وأضاف: “والأهم في عيد أنه يملك ميزة أحبها للغاية، وهي جينات ومقومات اللاعب القتالي، وهى ذات الصفات التي يتمتع بها طارق حامد ومحمود علاء والونش وغيرهم من لاعبي الزمالك”.

قصة صعوده للفريق الأول

وتابع أيمن عبد العزيز: “تصعيده للفريق جاء من أجل صناعة بديل لحازم إمام في بطولة افريقيا، بعد أن تواجدت في العمل ضمن الجهاز الفني السابق للفريق الأول بقيادة باتريس كارتيرون، كان تصعيد أحمد عيد من ضمن الملفات الرئيسية التي سعيت لها”.

ووواصل المدرب: “تحدثت أنا وسامي الشيشيني مع كارتيرون عن وجود لاعب مميز في قطاع الناشئين في مركز الظهير الأيمن، وبات الأمر أكثر رغبة بعد هروب حمدي النقاز وعدم وجود سوى حازم إمام في قائمة الفريق”.

وتابع: “قلنا لأنفسنا، ماذا لو غاب حازم إمام عن الزمالك في المواجهات الإفريقية سواء للإصابات أو الإيقاف؟ علينا أن نقوم بقيد أحمد عيد في القائمة الإفريقية لصناعة بديل جيد”.

واستكمل: “وبالفعل أشركنا أحمد عيد في بعض المباريات بأفريقيا من أجل اكتساب الخبرة اللازمة بشكل تدريجي، وجنى الزمالك ثمار اللاعب في مواجهة الرجاء”.

عيد لم يتحرر

ورغم من الأداء المميز الذي يقدمه أحمد عيد، إلا أن أمير عبد العزيز ما زال يرى أن اللاعب لم يقدم المستوى الذي يليق بقدراته الفنية والبدنية حتى الآن بالقميص الأبيض.

وأوضح عبد العزيز قائلاً: “عيد من أفضل اللاعبين على المستوى الفني والبدني في الزمالك، ودائمًا كان من أوائل اللاعبين الذين ينجحون في الاختبارات البدنية مع طارق حامد وزيزو والونش ومحمود علاء وإمام عاشور”.

واستطرد: “لأنني أعلم قدرات عيد جيدًا منذ تدريبه في قطاع الناشئين بفريق 2001، فهو يملك قدرات هجومية متميزة للغاية لكن طريقة اللعب التي يعتمد عليها الزمالك سواء مع كارتيرون أو باتشيكو تجعله مقيدًا بالجوانب الدفاعية وتحرمه من إظهار القدرات الهجومية الخاصة به”.

ويرى مدرب الزمالك السابق أنه في حالة حصول عيد على حرية هجومية أكبر سيكون الأداء مختلف على الرغم من تقديمه لمستوى متميز في مباراة الرجاء في الناحية الدفاعية ولم يهب الموقف.

واختتم: “هذا يدل على شخصية ناشئ الزمالك، وهو نجاح لنا في قطاع الناشئين والجهاز السابق للفريق”.

This title race is really going down to the wire, isn’t it? Surely, you Liverpool fans cannot cope with the stress and knowing that Manchester City are lurking in the shadows waiting to steal top spot away from them. Still, as it stands, no one from Merseyside is giving up. 

Obviously, for the remaining Premier League games, it is set to be an almighty battle between the two sides and it’s still a challenge Liverpool can come out on top of. Indeed, with the Champions League also still being a winnable trophy elsewhere, those Liverpool players can either stand up and be counted or prepare to flop under pressure.

Fans, of course, will be hoping it won’t be the latter and that finally, silverware will again be back at Anfield.

Over the years but, particularly this season, Jurgen Klopp has definitely brought the feel-good factor back to the club and use of youngsters sooner rather than later will make him even more popular around Anfield – Rhian Brewster being a prime example.

Although no such risk playing youngsters should be taken in their current predicament, pre-season is the perfect opportunity to assess such players.

Rhian Brewster looks to be an extremely talented youngster that could enjoy a very successful future in Liverpool colours. Having been injured for a large chunk of the season, any chance of a first-team call-up was subsequently ruled out but that shouldn’t dampen the excitement.

Though with the summer to re-assess things at Anfield, Jurgen Klopp would do no wrong taking a look at the Englishman. Indeed, alongside the likes of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, the wonderkid finisher can thrive and put teams away, something they’ve struggled to do at their worst this season.

After all, with 14 goals and 12 assists at youth level this season, he’s shown he has ability, now it’s just about embedding him within the first-team. Outside of Firmino, the club lack a natural centre-forward of note and reliability, so trusting Brewster to come good in a way ex-Red Dominic Solanke was supposed to could end up saving the club millions in potential future transfer fees.

ويعاني جريزمان منذ انتقاله في بداية الموسم الماضي إلى برشلونة في صيف 2019، حيث لم يصل إلى مستواه الفني المعهود الذي كان عليه مع أتلتيكو مدريد بعد سواء مع إرنستو فالفيردي أو كيكي سيتين أو رونالد كومان.

وحاول كومان الدفع بجريزمان في أكثر من مركز سواء في الجناح الأيمن أو المهاجم الوهمي خلال المباريات، لكن الفرنسي لم يقدم المردود المطلوب منه مع برشلونة.

وعلق المتحدث الرسمي للمهاجم، هيكتور فرنانديز، على إمكانية عودته إلى أتلتيكو مدريد، وقال: “لا لن يحدث ذلك فهو مستمر مع برشلونة”.

ويعتقد الكثيرون أن توقيع جريزمان لصالح برشلونة لم يكن ضروريًا وأن برشلونة كان لا ينبغي عليه أن يستثمر 120 مليونًا في التعاقد مع الفرنسي.

Crystal Palace travel north to face Newcastle this weekend having suffered a dismal defeat at the hands of Spurs on Wednesday – the scoreline flattered the Eagles as Roy Hodgson got it completely wrong from start to finish.

BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson has offered his predictions ahead of the crunch clash and he expects the Magpies to take a different approach to the one they adopted last time out. Palace must be careful not to allow the game to become a carbon copy of their midweek loss.

What did Lawro say?

Well, speaking in his weekly BBC Sport feature, the former Liverpool man said:

“Newcastle played OK in Monday’s defeat by Arsenal – looking fairly secure, but not exactly posing much of a threat. It almost felt like they were trying to keep the score down, which isn’t unusual for manager Rafael Benitez.

“I would expect the Magpies to be a bit more adventurous on Saturday, and I can see them edging this one.

“But both of these teams are safe anyway. It would be a massive shock if either of them went down.”

Both teams need a result

Sound familiar, Palace fans? The tactic which Benitez went for at the Emirates Stadium on Monday was basically the same as Hodgson’s for the opener at the new White Hart Lane – the Tyneside outfit are following it up at home, whereas Palace are on their travels again.

It is well known that the Eagles tend to be better away from home, where they are more inclined to sit back and hit their hosts on the counter, and Lawrenson predicts that the Magpies will look to be more ‘adventurous’ this time out.

Now, that should suit Palace, although they must be far more aggressive in their defending than they were at Spurs if they are to prevent this game from following the same script while also probing more themselves.

Hodgson, though, seemed inexplicably content with his side’s efforts on Wednesday night despite their posing zero threat on the front foot; it was only a matter of time before Spurs found the breakthrough as they kept the majority of possession and continued to create chances.

A win for either side will propel them further away from the drop but this game needs a response from Palace far more than it does from Newcastle.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton revolution has seen the likes of Yan Valery feature far more often for the first team, repaying the Austrian’s faith in him.

The Saints youth academy has produced talents such as Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and, of course, Gareth Bale in recent years – can Christoph Klarer follow in their footsteps?

The 18-year-old is surely knocking on the door already and the need for a new centre-back is becoming clear, with Maya Yoshida ageing and Jack Stephens perhaps too error-prone, so he could make his first-team bow far sooner than anticipated.

The Austrian has been integral to Radhi Jaidi’s Under-23’s this campaign having made the step up from captaining the Under-18’s effortlessly, and he is hoping to play his way into Hasenhuttl’s first team in the near future.

The former Rapid Vienna youngster is clearly highly-rated at Southampton – his solid showings this campaign were rewarded with a two-year contract extension which will ensure he remains at St Mary’s Stadium until 2021.

The aforementioned Valery recently put pen to paper on a new deal – an indicator of the success he has found since graduating from the academy – and perhaps he could be joined by Klarer in defence soon.

There are a number of areas in need of addressing in the transfer market this summer although it’s unlikely Southampton will be able to fix them all in the way they would like to, so Klarer’s progression could mean that they don’t have to spend a penny on the defence.

The 6 ft 3 centre-half could chalk up an imposing partnership with Jan Bednarek in the coming years under Hasenhuttl’s careful tutelage in his preferred 4-2-2-2 system, and perhaps evolve into the next centre-back to be championed by the Southampton faithful following Virgil van Dijk’s departure last year.

According to Goal.com, Tottenham Hotspur are becoming ‘increasingly confident’ that Christian Eriksen will sign a new contract with the club.

What’s the word, then?

Eriksen has been strongly linked with a move away from Tottenham over the last few months.

Indeed, Real Madrid are said to be keen to sign the Denmark international, who will see his deal with Spurs expire at the end of the 2019-2020 campaign.

It had been thought that Mauricio Pochettino’s side would be forced into selling the 27-year-old this summer.

However, according to Goal.com, talks between the two parties are ‘ongoing’ and the playmaker could pen a new long-term deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It remains to be seen whether Spurs can secure the future of Eriksen, but the latest reports are certainly positive from the London club’s point of view.

Statement of intent

Well, it would send out a strong message to the rest of Europe.

Tottenham are in a tough situation when it comes to Toby Alderweireld, who will be available for just £25m in this summer’s transfer window.

Alderweireld is expected to move on and losing the Belgium international in addition to Eriksen would be a huge blow for the Champions League semi-finalists, one that highlights an unflattering position in the hierarchy of elite clubs.

Indeed, since arriving from Ajax in 2013, Eriksen has scored 64 times and registered 86 assists in 270 appearances for his current club in all competitions. This term, meanwhile, the 87-time Denmark international has contributed eight goals and 17 assists in 44 appearances in all competitions.

Tottenham need to invest heavily this summer, but securing the future of Eriksen would undoubtedly be some of their best business – warning the rest of the continent that, excepting Alderweireld, their star players are not easy pickings.

ولكن ما زالت تداعيات الواقعة تسيطر على بعض المشجعين المتعصبين ضد بيكفورد، حيث أفادت الصحيفة الشهيرة أن الحارس الإنجليزي قد تلقى تهديدات بالقتل، خاصة وأنه لم يُعاقب من قبل حكم المباراة بالطرد بسبب احتساب تسلل على فان دايك.

وقام بيكفورد خلال الأيام القليلة الماضية باستئجار حراس شخصيين لحمايته وحماية عائلته خارج منزله، خوفًا من تعرضهم لأي أذى خلال الفترة القادمة.

Christian Eriksen reminded Tottenham Hotspur of his value on Tuesday evening.

The Denmark international, whose contract expires at the end of next season, scored a brilliant winner as Spurs beat Brighton & Hove Albion 1-0 at home.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side subsequently maintained their grip on third place after a weekend of crazy results, with Arsenal and Manchester United both losing, to Crystal Palace and Everton respectively, and Chelsea being held to a draw by Burnley on Monday.

However, Eriksen continues to be linked with a move away from the club.

Real Madrid have long been touted as potential suitors, with a move this summer a possibility, particularly with Spurs running the risk of losing the playmaker on a free at the end of next season if they cannot agree to a new deal.

We’ve asked some of the writers at Football FanCast if the Lilywhites should cash in on the playmaker extraordinaire, here’s what they said…

Matt Dawson

“I’ve always thought of Christian Eriksen as being one of the first players to leave Spurs as soon as things went south. However, he underlined his importance to the club against Brighton with yet another superb goal. How many times is he going to pop up with strikes like that? Considering Dele Alli’s largely underwhelming performances this season then Eriksen has to be held onto. You’d have to question Spurs’ ambition if he left so easily this summer.”

Luke Glanville

“If they aren’t already there, Tottenham Hotspur, for me, are getting very close to a position where they are able to hold onto players like Christian Eriksen. Just look at their new stadium and Champions League progression this season – and Eriksen has to be the first example of that. He’s had plenty of opportunities to go before and stayed, that shows he wants to be in north London. Spurs must find a way of honing that and holding onto him. But it they can’t win a major trophy next season, I expect the lure of Real Madrid would prove too much to resist.”

James Beavis

“Eriksen turned on the class once again with that goal against Brighton, but, in my eyes, he hasn’t done it consistently enough this season. The Denmark international has often gone missing in the really big fixtures, and perhaps now a fresh start would suit all parties. The 27-year-old is good but he isn’t irreplaceable, and if he has no intention of signing a new contract then Tottenham must cash in while they can.”

وقال لامبارد، في تصريحات نشرتها صحيفة “مترو” الإنجليزية: “بوليسيتش خضع لفحص بالأمس أظهر إصابة طفيفة جدًا في أوتار الركبة، طفيفة جدًا”.

وأضاف: “لن يكون لائقًا لمباراة الغد أمام رين، لكننا سنرى حالته بعد ذلك”.

وواصل: “بكل تأكيد من المريح أن تكون الإصابة بهذه البساطة، شعر كريستيان بشيء ما، ولكنه اتخذ القرار الصائب بعدم محاولته خوض المباراة، لأن ذلك كان من الممكن أن يؤدي إلى تفاقم الأمر سوءًا”.

وتابع: “نتمنى أن يعود إلينا في وقت قريب جدًا لأنه لاعب مهم بالنسبة لنا، منذ الموسم الماضي كنا نبحث عن طرق للتعامل مع كريستيان ونحاول فقط أن نكون حريصين في عدم تعرضه لإصابات كثيرة”.

واختتم: “أعلم أنه شيء كان يعاني منه سابقًا في مسيرته في دورتموند أيضًا، لذلك نعمل جميعًا في نفس الاتجاه على ذلك لمحاولة جعله لائقًا بشكل منتظم قدر الإمكان لأننا نعرف الموهبة التي يمتلكها”.
