Gyokeres refused to train with Sporting in an attempt to force through a Premier League move, with his agent, Hasan Cetinkaya, even waiving due commission fees to help move the forward’s transfer to Arsenal along.

Gyokeres put pen to paper on a five-year contract and was finally confirmed as Berta’s sixth major signing for Arsenal last weekend, following the Italian’s moves for Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera.

The Sweden international, who bagged 54 goals in all competitions last season on Sporting’s run to a first domestic double in around 20 years, is viewed as perhaps Arsenal’s most crucial new addition of the summer.

Their inability to break down teams in the low block was a reoccurring theme of their struggles last term, with Arteta’s side scoring just 69 Premier League goals and drawing more matches than any other side in the top 10.

Gyokeres’ arrival could be imperative to fixing this issue, and it is perhaps a key reason why Berta and co are targeting Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze after the 27-year-old.

Eze was, by some distance, Palace’s most devastating attacking player in the Premier League season, averaging more shots at goal, key passes and successful take-ons per 90 than any of his teammates (WhoScored).

The England international also scored 14 goals and registered a further 11 assists in all competitions, with Arsenal widely believed to be focusing on Eze as their next top transfer target.

Arsenal are in active discussions with Eze’s representatives, according to reliable media sources like Fabrizio Romano, and The Guardian’s Ed Aarons has now shared another update.

According to his sources, Arsenal have also held “initial talks” with Palace over a deal for Eze, with the south Londoners making crystal clear what it would take to sell their star player.

Palace want £35 million of Eze’s £60 million release clause to be paid in advance and in full. They will allow the rest to be met through instalments, not including bonuses, which could take the clause to around £68 million.

The Eagles have to pay 15 per cent of Eze’s fee to QPR thanks to a previously agreed sell-on clause, perhaps explaining their reluctance to negotiate below Eze’s asking price.

Given Arsenal already have both club captain Martin Odegaard and Ethan Nwaneri for the number 10 role, so it remains to be seen whether they’re willing to pay his full clause after spending north of £200 million already this summer.

Interestingly, there are some suggestions that Arsenal could offer players as makeweights in a deal for Eze to tempt Palace into agreeing a lesser fee.

Madhya Pradesh (MP) have made it to their first Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) final since 2010-11, and their captain Rajat Patidar has been key to their success this season. Ahead of the final against Mumbai on December 15, he has scored 347 runs, including four half-centuries, and batted at an impactful strike rate of 182.63.Patidar has continued from where he had left off in the IPL this year, where he was Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) third-highest run-getter with 395 runs at a strike rate of 177.13. واستمر: “غياب زيزو اليوم قد يكون مفيدًا له، هو كان يرغب في المشاركة، وأكيد يجب على اللاعب أن ينسى أي شيء، لأنه أصبح لاعبًا في الأهلي، وسيسعى ليبذل كل ما لديه من قوة، وهذا يختلف حسب شخصية اللاعب”.

وأضاف: “عبد الله السعيد، يمكن القول إنه هادئ جدًا في الملعب، فلا يهمه ما يحدث حوله، فهو يركز على أداء دوره مهما كانت الألوان التي يرتديها، عبد الله من النوع الذي يركز في الملعب دون الانشغال بتفسيرات الجمهور، وأنا أحب اللاعبين بهذه الطريقة، حيث يكون تركيزهم داخل الملعب فقط”.

وأتم: “أما ناصر ماهر، فهو لاعب جيد، وحالته الصحية مهمة، فإذا كانت جيدة فإنه يفيد الزمالك بشكل كبير أعتقد أن المرحلة السابقة قد مرت، وأنه يركز اليوم على فريقه، ويريد الفوز، وجماهير الزمالك بدأت تثق فيه، وهو بالفعل يصنع الفارق”.

However, fans shouldn’t be too down about missing out on the 28-year-old, as it looks like the club are now closing in on a forward who could be their own version of him.

At least that’s according to a recent report from the continent, who claims that Forest are now incredibly close to signing Arnaud Kalimuendo.

In fact, the Belgian journalist has revealed that the Gariabaldi have now “agreed” to pay Stade Rennais €30m – £26m – for the incredibly dangerous centre-forward and that personal terms are already sorted.

While the fee is still significant, this looks like a great bit of business from Forest, especially as Kalimuendo has been compared to the dangerous Wissa.

How Kalimuendo compares to Wissa

Now, there are plenty of clear and somewhat surface-level similarities between Kalimuendo and Wissa, such as the fact that they’re both goalscoring centre-forwards who play in one of Europe’s top leagues and look to be on the move this summer.

However, in this instance, the primary comparison stems from FBref, which has analysed players in similar positions across Europe’s top-five leagues and concluded that the Brentford star has been the tenth most similar forward to the Rennes ace over the last 365 days.

The best way to understand how such a conclusion was reached is to examine the underlying numbers where the pair ranks closely.

It’s clear from these similarities that the 23-year-old has the ability to become just as dangerous a striker as the Bees ace and that he does not shirk his defensive duties either.

However, away from the statistical similarities to the Premier League star, the other reason Forest should be going all out to sign the France U21 star is the fact that he was a lean, mean output machine last season.

For example, the Suresnes-born monster, whom talent scout Jacek Kulig described as being “one of the most prolific” players around, scored 18 goals and provided four assists in 34 appearances, totalling 2681 minutes.

That means he managed to average a goal involvement every 1.54 games, or every 121.86 minutes, which sounds like the sort of numbers which could help push Nuno’s side even further up the table.

Ultimately, while he’s not as well known in England as Wissa, Forest look like they have got themselves a seriously impressive striker in Kalimuendo and someone who could be their own version of the Brentford man.

تلك الخسارة كانت الثانية، بعد الهزيمة أمام باريس سان جيرمان في دوري أبطال أوروبا، بثنائية مقابل هدف.

وأبدى كروس رأيه بصراحة في برشلونة بقيادة فليك، موضحًا أنهم من أكثر الفرق متعة للمشاهدة، لكن هوسهم باللعب بنفس الأسلوب يضعفهم من الدقيقة 75، إذ لا يستطيعون الحفاظ على نسق اللعب نفسه.

وقال كروس، في تصريحات نقلتها صحيفة “آس” الإسبانية: “يمتلك برشلونة أحد أكثر أساليب اللعب جاذبية، إن لم يكن الأكثر جاذبية في أوروبا بأكملها، لكنني أعتقد أنهم يخاطرون كثيرًا”.

وأضاف: “حدث هذا لهم العام الماضي ضد إنتر، وهذا العام سواءً في دور الـ 16 أو ربع النهائي أو نصف النهائي أو النهائي، سيواجهون في مرحلة ما خصمًا كهذا يُقصيهم”.

وأردف: “سيحدث هذا لهم في دوري أبطال أوروبا ولكن ليس في الدوري الإسباني، لأنهم مُسيطرون للغاية”.

وأتم: “ابتداءً من الدقيقة 75، يلاحظ إرهاق الجميع وعدم اعتمادهم أسلوبًا مختلفًا في تقليص المساحات، إذا كنت مُرهقًا ولم تُغير أسلوب لعبك، فسيتضح مدى تعرضك للخطر”.
